For this project, JDF Roofing were instructed to replace ageing cast iron guttering and a cast iron downpipe that had deteriorated over time and were no longer performing effectively. While cast iron systems are durable, they can eventually suffer from corrosion, joint failure and water leaks — particularly on older properties.
After assessing the condition of the existing system, we removed the cast iron gutters and replaced them with black half-round uPVC guttering. This modern alternative offers excellent durability, improved water flow and significantly reduced maintenance requirements, while still maintaining a traditional appearance that suits a wide range of properties.
The existing cast iron downpipe was also removed and replaced with a black round uPVC downpipe, ensuring full compatibility with the new guttering system. All connections were securely fitted and aligned correctly to promote efficient drainage and prevent future leaks or overflows.
The new uPVC system provides a clean, uniform finish and is fully resistant to rust and corrosion. It will continue to perform reliably in all weather conditions while enhancing the overall look of the property.
This project is a great example of how upgrading outdated guttering systems can improve both functionality and appearance. If your gutters or downpipes are showing signs of wear, our team can provide honest advice and a long-lasting replacement solution.
